Selecting the appropriate tier, students should be working through the booklets provided. If they are struggling with a particular topic, they can visit the website, watch the video and then try again. The selected topics are work they have covered in Year 10.  Once they have finished a booklet they can then mark their own work using the answers provided. . If they are unsure of how to answer a question, then they can email their teacher for guidance.

As Mock exams will no longer take place it would be advisable to start to create some revision cards/ revision notes on the flowing topics that we have covered this year.

  • - Component 1,Topic 3 (Orange book)
  • - Component 2, Topic 1 (Blue Book)
  • - General key terms and definitions
  • - Learning the fitness grid

As you do this, hopefully some of the key information will start to go in your long term memory, while at the same time you would have created revision material ready for your final exams next year.

To help with the above the following should be available on the school website:

  • - New specification whole theory revision (look at the relevant topics)
  • - Developing good exam technique (a PowerPoint giving some key advice on exam technique)
  • - Revision flash cards (summary of the key topics). Choose appropriate sections.
  • - 5 a-day revision questions. Choose appropriate topics.

You will also have revision guides and work booklets that you can look at.

The BBC Bitesize website also has some good revision bits on. Choose the Edexcel exam board.

If this doesn’t make any sense or you need more advice please email either Mr Cook (kcook@debenhamhigh.co.uk) or Mr Mitchell (nmitchell@debenhamhigh.co.uk)

Keeping yourself active during the school closure is very important for both your physical and mental health

This could be as simple as going for a walk/ run/ bike ride

If however you want to do something different why don’t you try and complete the Debenham High School Fitness Bingo Card

You could do this on your own or make it a fun, family activity

How it works:

  • - Start off with the bronze coloured card
  • - Pick a line and then try and cross off each square over the course of the day- this could be in one go or at different times throughout the day
  • - Once you have crossed off all the lines on the bronze card, move to the silver and then the gold cards.
  • - As you move up the different coloured cards, you will notice that they get more physically challenging
  • - If you find this too hard, you can always keep on the coloured card that best suits your fitness level
  • - You could also think about changing the number of certain movement to make it more suited to you- your parent/ carer might be able to help with this
  • - Most of the exercises require no equipment but if you don’t have a skipping rope or something that you can step on to, choose a different exercise

RE

You are all covering Christianity at the moment. We have a bit more work to do on this and one more topic to cover. For now, we want you to focus on completing the Judaism topic and want you to do the following:

  1. Dependant on where you are in the course, find the relevant textbook pages in the folder and complete the tasks on all of the pages you have yet to cover. For each of the issues (e.g. Holy Communion, Festivals, Evangelism, Marriage), you need to be confident that you know:
    • o What it is (define key words)
    • o Why it is important for Christians (including reference to teachings/quotes)
    • o How different Christians follow/mark these events/rules
    • o How following/marking these events/rules impacts on a Christian’s life
  2. You have been given Revision Cards for the Christianity Practices unit. Complete these.
  3. On the shared area, there is a file called ‘GCSE RE Revision Booklet’. Find the ‘activity’ sections connected to Crime & Punishment and Christianity and complete these activities.

5. There is a document with a huge range of exam questions for Christianity, that you could choose some from and answer. You should complete at least:

  • 5 two mark questions
  • 4 four mark questions
  • 3 five mark questions
  • 2 12 mark questions

Additionally, if you have misplaced (or been absent from lessons using) revision cards form any of the previous topics, they are all in the folder, so you could print these and complete them.

RM -

  1. Students to revise for their written paper / theory. There are past papers together with mark schemes on the system so they can self mark if wanting to check work / level.
  2. They could also continue to work through the past paper they have been issued with but this time with a different coloured pen use the internet to assist them in getting their asnwers so that I know what was their own knowledge and what was “assisted”.
